Setting up Transmit 1.5

This page will give you the essentials to use the Transmit 1.5 ftp client on the MacOS.

Configuration

  1. Launch Transmit 1.5

  2. In the Address: field enter you ftp site, ex: ftp.hypersurf.com

  3. In the Username: field enter you username, ex: jsmith
    NOTE: If your wish to login as Anonymous, enter anonymous in the Username field and enter your E-mail address for the Password: field.

  4. In the Password: field enter you password.
    NOTE: Your password is case-sensative, ex: "password" is not the same as "Password".

  5. Click the bookmark icon in front of Please Login to a Server
    Select Add This to Your Favorites...
    NOTE: Next time you wish to access this profile just click the bookmark icon and it will be listed under it.

    Click Connect

Usage

Transmit 1.5 has a very simple interface mimicking the MacOS.
  1. To delete: Select the file/folder and drag it to the trash icon in the Transmit window.

  2. To rename: Click on the file name, wait 1 second and then type in the new name and press return.

  3. To make new folder: Click File|New Folder.

  4. To copy: Drag the file/folder from Your stuff to Their stuff and vice versa.

  5. This should provide enough information to get you started. Please refer to the Help menu for more information.
