Technical Support Frequently Asked QuestionsThis area under constant construction as new questions come upIf you don't see your question here, please send technical support feedback or questions using our on-line form and get your question answered directly.
Modems sometimes need to be told what is the best possible way to connect. By using a initalization string you may greatly improve the performance of your modem. Please be aware that connection speeds from analog modems greatly depend on phone line conditions. Many factors can degrade your connection to the Internet. For example, noise on the lines in your house, or a noisy switch five miles from your house. The connection rate on an analog modem fluctuates constantly during the connection so don't be alarmed if you are unable to achieve the speeds your modem says it is capable of. If you know the brand and model of your modem, simply look it up on one of the site below and enter the initalization string in your dialer.
