Setting Up and Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x / Windows

Installation

1. Download ie4setup.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/ie and save it to your Desktop.
   
   
2. On your desktop double-click the ie4setup icon that you downloaded.

   

3. Click the Next button to begin Active Setup.

   

4. Read the License Agreement, and if you agree to its terms, select I accept the agreement.

   

5. Click the Next button.
6. Select Install.

   

7. Click the Next button.
8. Select Standard Installation.

   Note: If you do not need the Outlook Express mail and news clients, select Browser Only Installation. You may also select Full Installation, though this will increase download time.

   

9. Click the Next button.
10. If you wish to install the Windows Desktop Update, select Yes (it can always be uninstalled later).

    

11. Click the Next button.
12. Select your country for Active Channel Selection

    

13. Click the Next button.
14. In the Install in folder box, type the location where you would like to install Internet Explorer (if you don't know, just accept the default location).

    

15. Click the Next button.
16. Select your Region, then choose a Download Site.

    

17. Click the Next button.
18. Wait while Internet Explorer is downloaded and installed.
19. When installation is complete, click the OK button.

    

Configuration

1. On the desktop, double-click the Internet Explorer icon.

   

2. Click the Next button to begin the Internet Connection Wizard.

   

3. Select I already have an Internet connection....

   

4. Click the Next button.

   

5. Click the Finish button.
6. From the View menu, click Internet Options.

   

7. From the top select the General tab.
8. In the Address field, enter http://www.hypersurf.com/.

   

9. Click the OK button.
