- Connnecting using Gnome-ppp
Gnome-ppp comes with the Gnome-Networking package. It is possibly the
easiest way to setup an Internet connection. Also note, you don't have to be
running Gnome to use this program (although you must be in an X Window
environment).
- From your favorite terminal, just type gppp then press enter.
- When first launching gnome-ppp there are a number of steps that have to
be run through before it is useable.

- Click on the Account menu, then choose New.
- Click on the Dial tab.

- In the Account Name box, type a name for this account.
- In the Modem Device drop down list, select the correct modem
- In the Phone Numbers box, type your local dialup number (found here). If you have mandatory 10-digit
dialing, make sure you type the ENTIRE phone number in this box. Click the
Add button to add the phone number to the list.
- Click on the Authentication tab.

- In the User Name box, type your username.
- In the Remote Name box, type your username.
- In the Password box, type your password.
- Click on the IP Address tab.

- Under the Local IP Address section, put a dot next to
Dynamic.
- Under the Netmask section, put a dot next to Dynamic.
- Under the Remote IP Address section, put a dot next to
Dynamic.
- Click on the DNS tab.

- In the IP Address box, type 206.66.10.94, then click the
Add button.
- Again in the IP Address box, type 206.138.224.150, then
click the Add button.
- In the Domain name box, type airmail.net, then click the
Add button.
- Click on the Script tab.

- Make sure all of the boxes on this page are empty.
- Click on the PPP tab.

- Put a dot next to Add Default Route and Lock Dialout
Device.
- In the Maximum Transmission Unit box, type 552.
- In the Maximum Receive Unit box, type 552.
- Click the OK button.

- Your connection shoudl now be setup! Every time we open up gnome-ppp
just click the Connect button.
