Windows XP - PPPoE DSL Connection

To setup your DSL connection, you need a Network Interface Card (NIC). This setup process assumes you have your NIC installed and setup on your computer. Refer to your NIC's manual for instructions on how to do this. The following instructions should help you get up and running.

Do not try to install the PPPoE (software that was provided) . Windows XP will not allow PPPoE software to run or even install.

Please follow these directions to setup your PPPoE DSL connection in Windows XP:

Open the Control Panel. Click the Network and Internet Connection option, then choose Network Connections. Note: If the Control Panel is in Classic View, double click the Network Connections icon,

Click the File menu and choose New Connection to start the New Connection Wizard. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.

Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.

Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password. Click Next.

In the ISP Name field, enter a name for the connection - we recommend using Hypersurf. Click Next.

Enter your Username and Password into the appropriate fields. Your username should be in the form of username@hypersurf.com. Uncheck Turn on the Internet Connection Firewall for this connection. Click Next.

If you would like an icon to the DSL connection added to the desktop, select that option. Click Finish to complete the wizard. You may need to restart your computer for the new connection to become active.

You should now be setup to connect to the Internet!
