To setup your Windows 2000 DSL connection, you need a Network Interface Card (NIC). This setup process assumes you have your NIC installed and setup on your computer. Refer to your NIC's manual for instructions on how to do this.

Start Menu
  • Click on the Start Menu, then choose Settings, then choose Control Panel.

    Control Panel

  • Double-click on the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.

    Network Connections

  • Right click once on Local Area Connection, then choose Properties.

    General Tab

  • Make sure Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is checked. Then highlight it, and click the Properties button.

    TCP/IP Properties

  • Put a dot next to Use the following IP address.
  • In the IP Address box, type the IP address that was given to you.
  • In the Subnet Mask box, type the Subnet Mask that was given to you.
  • In the Default gateway box, type the Gateway IP Address that was given.
  • Put a dot next to Use the following DNS server addresses.
